Sophos Management Service fails to start when server is rebooted, however it starts fine when done manually.
First seen in Enterprise Console 4.0.0 Cause
The SQL Server service takes too long to start, resulting in a timeout when the Sophos Management Service attempts to start. This is most commonly associated with under-powered servers.
As a workaround to the performance issues, a dependency for the local SQL Server (Sophos) instance can be created under the Sophos Management Service.
Note: The program should be run from a command prompt. If you have User Account Control (UAC) enabled and are not logged on as the Administrator account you will see the error: The requested operation requires elevation when attempting to run the program. Either:
sc config "Sophos Management Service" depend= rpcss/mssql$sophos
This can also be done manually by modifying the service registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE|SYSTEM|CurrentControlSet|Services|Sophos Management Service
