This article provides best practice advice for stopping and starting PureMessage for Exchange services. As the PureMessage scanning processes will be offline, this article advises that the related Exchange processes are also stopped. It is therefore advised that you perform this process in a maintenance window or similar period.
Note: Incorrectly stopping or starting the PureMessage services can cause problems (e.g., mail building in queue, console not displaying properly, etc).
