The following message is logged to the AutoUpdate log file alc.log:
Download of products from server Sophos skipped due to minimum interval restriction.
The Sophos shield in the system tray shows a red cross indicating that an update failure has occurred.
Note: This restriction does not apply to user initiated updates

Sophos AutoUpdate is configured to update directly from Sophos and the scheduled update frequency is set to less than 60 minutes. Setting the update interval to less than 60 minutes has no effect as updates directly from Sophos are restricted to a minimum 60 minute interval. Currently, there is a product defect where this condition incorrectly triggers a failed update state. Note: Update intervals less than 60 minutes can be used when updating from network locations managed by Sophos Enterprise Console
If this is the only message in the AutoUpdate log then the reported update failure can be safely ignored. To prevent this log message and reported update failure you can increase the scheduled interval to 60 minutes or greater.
