When a user attempts to open the PureMessage Administration console, error code 0x80070005 is returned with one of the following messages:
The administration console is unable to connect to the local server
The administration console is unable to connect to the remote server <servername>

The list of users authorized to manage PureMessage can be seen in the Active Directory group Sophos PureMessage Administrators, which is automatically created during the installation of PureMessage. Make sure that the affected user is a member of the said group.
If the problem persists after adding the user to the group, ensure that the AD changes have propagated to any other AD servers. This can be an issue where the console is not running on the same computer as the Exchange/PureMessage service.
If the error still persists after adding the user to the Sophos PureMessage Administrators group, perform the following steps:
