This article describes the significant files in the Sophos Database. For more information on the release names for the Sophos core databases see article 17323.

SOPHOS4.mdf holds the data and is the Master Database File (hence .mdf) for the SOPHOS4 database. SOPHOS4_log.ldf is the accompanying transactional log file.
Location: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$SOPHOS\Data\
Note: SOPHOS4 is the database for Enterprise Console version 4. For later versions, replace the 4 with 45 for Enterprise Console 4.5, etc.
This file is the service ‘MSSQL$SOPHOS’. By default, in MSDE for example, it runs under the SYSTEM account but this can be changed if necessary. It is this service which loads the database files above.
Location: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$SOPHOS\Binn\sqlservr.exe
This is a text-based log file which mainly logs the start-up of the SQL service.
Location: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$SOPHOS\LOG\ERRORLOG
This is the osql utility command line tool that can be used for querying the database.
Location: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\Binn\
A graphical tool for setting up the networking of SQL server, i.e. the protocols it listens on and the ports to use if using TCP/IP.
