This article describes the behavior change when releasing emails from quarantine digest emails. Quarantine Digest is the listing of all emails that are identified as Spam and quarantined by Sophos XG Firewall Anti Spam engine. Sophos XG Firewall sends the quarantine digest in the form of an email to all users as per the configured frequency which can be hourly, daily or weekly. From the digest, users can sort through the quarantined emails and, if necessary, release them to their personal inboxes.

There is behavior change when releasing quarantine emails from quarantine spam digest email since late May 2020.
Earlier, users could release the quarantine email directly by clicking on the Release link in the spam digest email like the following:
When the user clicks on the Release link in spam digest email, they will receive the message below.
"You can release quarantined emails only from the user portal. To release them, sign in to the user portal."
Users can only release quarantined email from the User Portal, once successfully logged into the User Portal, they can release the quarantined email. The new process is documented in Sophos XG Firewall: How to release quarantined email from quarantine spam digest email
