Microsoft SQL Server Backup to Windows Azure Tool fails to upload backups when Sophos Endpoint / Server is present.
Errors similar to this are seen: "YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS,ms (5) ERROR Internal.General - The file '<filename>' cannot be read because it is write-only."
This is due to the file system driver for the tool, SQLBackup2AzureDriver, having file permissions locks that can conflict with our locks.
This article describes the steps to correct this behavior.
The following sections are covered:
Applies to the following Sophos products and versions Central Windows Endpoint 10.8.6Central Server Anti-Virus 10.8.6
This allows the Microsoft Driver to interact with the files before our scanner, and we don't hook file files being written (due to the processes involved).
