Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policy string matching based on keyword and/or regex works only with UTF-8 encoded message.
Applies to the following Sophos product(s) and version(s) Sophos Central Email
If you observed that is not working as expected, then first verify the email header to see which encoding is set.
If encoding is set to some thing else than UTF-8, then set it to UTF-8 in respective sender’s email client application and verify again.
This behavior is currently a product limitation.
