Apple has released macOS version 10.15 (Catalina) on the 11th of October 2019. SafeGuard version 8.20.0 and previous versions of SafeGuard Disk Encryption and File Encryption for Mac, do not support this new Operating System and may not function correctly.
To be able to use macOS Catalina (10.15) together with SafeGuard, you need to install version 8.30.
Note: SafeGuard Enterprise 8.30 supports macOS 10.13, 10.14 and 10.15.
Applies to the following Sophos products and versions Sophos SafeGuard Disk Encryption for Mac Sophos SafeGuard File Encryption for Mac
If you are running a version 8.20 or below of SafeGuard you need to upgrade to version 8.30 or newer versions first. During this upgrade you might need to approve the Sophos team- identifier ID again. The same applies if you have SafeGuard 8.30 installed and upgrade to macOS 10.15. The reason is reset of the Apple keychain during the macOS upgrade.
For the usage of the SafeGuard File Encryption module additional steps are required after the installation of version 8.30. These steps are not required if you using SafeGuard Disk Encryption only. Follow the steps below:
