Users with SafeGuard Enterprise client version 8.00.5 may encounter issues after installing the Microsoft July or August cumulative updates for Windows 10 version 1903 (19H1), KB4505903/KB4512508 and version 1809 (RS5), KB4505658/KB4511553. If you use any of the file encryption modules of SafeGuard Enterprise 8.00.5, Sophos recommends that you test and evaluate the functionality of the above updates before applying them to your computers.
Computers running SafeGuard Enterprise 8.10 or later, running Windows 10 versions earlier than version 1809 (RS5), or that only use SafeGuard Enterprise full disk encryption are NOT affected by this issue.
The Microsoft patches above may impact limited functionality of the SafeGuard Enterprise version 8.00.5 file encryption modules. There should be no impact to the transparent encryption or decryption of files, but manual encryption and decryption may not be available, and the system could become unstable.
