When you have Controlled Updates enabled, removing a Sophos Central Endpoint from the Test computers group in Controlled Updates will result in the Central Endpoint staying in a "Pending removal..." state.

This is only applicable when you have Controlled Updates enabled in your Sophos Central console under Global Settings > Controlled Updates.
The "Pending removal..." status refers to the devices waiting to be removed from the Test computers group.
Sophos Central Endpoints will remain in this pending state until one of the following actions are performed:
Once the non-test computers have been updated to the same version of Sophos Central Endpoint that the Test computers are running, the Endpoints that are “Pending removal...” will leave the Test computers group.
Please be aware that this functionality is by design, as we do not support downgrades to our software.
