Advisory: A small subset of CR (Cyberoam) appliances having known issue with SFOS firmware upgrade.
Applies to the following Sophos products and versions Cyberoam
Below is the list of the affected appliances.
The device will reboot continuously while upgrading or booting with SFOS firmware version with error logs below:
Fatal: FATAL: Too small disk ‘8019099648’ (need 16000000000)
Note: You may require a serial console connection to confirm the logs above.
The root cause has been identified. CR hardware (dual disk models which can migrate to SF) has 4GB flash and storage disk. Few appliances on the field has 8GB flash and storage disks. These new mentioned appliances doesn’t comply with the disk detection and partition logic based on size change.
As of now, customers may roll back to CROS and may wait until the next update from the Dev team for a solution or fix on this issue.
