When you have created a user based policy and applied a web filter policy to restrict the user and the policies are working properly, for a time being, if a user needs to access a few sites, the user needs to ask the administrator to allow those sites.
The administrator either needs to create a different policy for the user or change the existing policy which may allow permissions to many users.
In place of that, there is a new feature available in Cyberoam which is Temporary Access Setting.
The following are the minimum requirements to apply this option:
Applies to the following Sophos products and versions
Cyberoam 10.6.5 and above
e.g. https://192.168.28.1/portal (192.168.28.1 is a LAN interface IP)
Note: The user can enable or disable the status of this token.
Now when the user is signed in to his account to access the internet, the user will have the restrictions applied.
For the sites which are not allowed for that user, an access denied page will be displayed.
For the sites which the user needs to access, the same access denied page will be displayed.
On the same page, the user will find the Access Override option.
The user needs to click on that option and needs to provide the token number (as shown above) and then click on continue.
The site will then open temporarily for that user even though it is denied.
