What is the COSU mode?
Android allows the configuration of devices (with Android 6.0 or higher) as corporate-owned, single-use (COSU) devices.
This kind of dedicated device usage allows a company to lock a single application or a fix variety of apps to the device screen and thus preventing the user of the corporate device to escape this app/those apps and use the other functionality of the managed device.
In comparison to the “Kiosk mode”, the “COSU mode” is being transferred to the device instantly when enrolling the device using the “Device Owner method”. This provides several advantages as shown in the following list:
How to set up the COSU mode
To setup the COSU mode, follow these steps:
After enrolling the device, the apps configured in the task bundle will be installed and the device is ready for use in “COSU mode”. Note: On some device the enrollment and the app installation can take up to about 30 minutes. Also, you may have to reboot the device after the enrollment if some apps are not displayed or listed correctly.
