This article describes the unexpected appearance of Intercept X license usage in Sophos Central Admin and Partner Dashboard introduced on the 19th November after only installing Central Endpoint. This does not affect the protection of any services or products in Sophos Central.
The root cause of this issue has been found and a solution has been tested and shown to resolve the issue. The fix for this issue will be rolled out by 17th Dec. Should this plan change, this article will be updated.

No action is needed to resolve this, it will be resolved automatically by Sophos. Specifically, you do not need to remove any software or change policy settings. If you make any changes to your threat protection policy(ies) then this issue will be resolved. For instance, if you have 2 threat protection policies, making any change to each of them would correct the license usage issue. You can revert the changes afterwards- any edit will correct the issue even if subsequently reversed.
No software is/has been installed or removed by this bug and there are not any license enforcement mechanisms to be concerned about, for example existing endpoints continue to receive updates and new computers can be installed even if incorrect usage is shown. This is purely a cosmetic issue around the license usage shown.
