In versions of Sophos PureMessage for Microsoft Exchange from 4.0.4 TLS 1.2 encryption is supported on the connection between the PureMessage Server and a Microsoft SQL Server instance. For further information on this please see:

As long as the Microsoft SQL Server has been configured correctly by following the guidelines documented in KBA 132092 the below message will be seen in the Windows Application Event Logs to signify that a TLS 1.2 connection has been established:
