VMware VMotion enables the live migration of running virtual machines from one physical server to another transparently with zero downtime. This article explains the complications that arise from VMotion and why some products are not supported. The following sections are covered:

When VMotion is enabled, IP addresses do not replicate and may cause several other issues. VMware VMotion is not supported and must be unchecked/turned off for the following products:
When installing Sophos for Virtual Environments Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS) should be turned off. This stops the Security VM moving straight away and losing connectivity. VMotion can be turned back on after installation.
