When connecting the Primary and Auxiliary devices to a switch with Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) enabled, the link activation time may need to be adjusted on the switch port for each interface connected to the XG.
For example, the Port Fast option under the STP settings on Cisco switches allows for access or trunk ports to be brought to the forwarding state from a blocking state, bypassing other states that would increase the time for the port to come up.
