If CATC (Cyberoam Authentication for Thinclient Suite) and SATC (Sophos Authentication for Thinclient Suite) are both installed, then removing either program will cause the other to stop working. When one of the suites is uninstalled, the registry entry HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Userinit is modified to remove a reference to c:\windows\system32\userinit.exe. They are essentially the same software and use the same registry values.
This article describes the steps to resolve the issue when an administrator installs SATC first and then uninstalls CATC when migrating from Cyberoam OS to Sophos Firewall OS.

Always remove CATC first before installing SATC. If you have already installed SATC, then you need to reboot into safe mode and manually add the registry key back after uninstalling CATC.
