This article explains how to update to Sophos Mobile 8.0 and necessary steps required after the update.
Applies to the following Sophos products and versions Sophos Mobile 8.0
Sophos Mobile Control (SMC) client applications should be updated to the most recent version before the update to prevent any communication issues. The SMC app version 7.0 and 7.1. have been successfully tested with Sophos Mobile 8.0.
If Sophos Mobile is used to manage Windows Desktop devices, a reconfiguration of the Self Service Portal group settings is required. With the release of Sophos Mobile 8.0 task bundles are introduced for Windows Desktop devices. Due to that, the profile configured before the update is removed by updating the Sophos Mobile server.
To be able to enroll Windows Desktop devices again via the Self Service Portal a task bundle for must be created for the Windows Desktop platform and linked within the Group settings tab at Setup | Self Service Portal.
