Sophos Web Appliance alerts the system software update failed even though the system is up to date. This is caused by the upgrade process being in a looping state. The next upgrade would fail to download if left in this state. The following sections are covered:

The issue is still being investigated.
Reboot the appliance to clear from the looping state.
If the issue still persists, contanct Sophos Support to restart the process.
