Within the Actions pane of an Android 6 mobile device, the option to reset the device password is available.
Looking at the same section on an Android 7 device, this option does not exist. However, within the Self Service Portal the user is able to execute this tasks which then fails.
This behavior is caused by changes within the Android 7.0 operating system which were done by Google.

There is no solution for this issue as Google has removed the methods to reset the device password.
This is also listed as a known issue within the Sophos Mobile 7.0 release notes.
Due to that, the action is not shown within the device details. The option will also be removed from the Self Service Portal within a future release of Sophos Mobile.
