After installing Sophos Central Endpoint, an alert is displayed in the Status page of the interface:

There is an error in the Sophos Network Threat Protection Install Log that can be a symptom of this issue. See the error below:
Error 1920. Service 'Sophos Network Threat Protection' (SntpService) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.
If the above mentioned is verified to have caused the issue, do the following:
Download and install the update for Visual C++ 2013 and Visual C++ Redistributable Package.
If the Base Filtering Engine service fails to start, then add permission on the corresponding registry for BFE:
If the service is not present, the registry key can be exported from a working machine with the same build and use in the affected system:
