This article provides an overview on the supported methods of configuring an Enterprise Console managed installation of Sophos for Virtual Environments to update from an IIS hosted share (also known as a webCID).

Before following this article please make sure that your IIS hosted update location (webCID) has been set up in the method specified in the below article:

Note. The Sophos for Virtual Environments product only supports Anonymous or Basic authentication on the IIS share - attempting to install using other authentication methods will cause the installation to fail.
During the installation of Sophos for Virtual Environments Security VM you can specify the address of a webCID in place of a Windows network share path. This should be entered in the below format:
Note. Please replace <IIS Share URL> with the configured URL of your webCID.
The installation will progress as normal and following the completion of the install the Security VM will update from the webCID as it would a local network CID.
