This article describes Application Control for Mac OS X.
Applies to the following Sophos products and versions Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac OS X 9.6.0Sophos Cloud Managed Endpoint 9.6.0 (Mac)
Operating systems Apple Mac OS X
As of Sophos Anti-Virus (SAV) for Mac OS X version 9.6.0, managed endpoints (SEC and Central managed) are able to perform Application Control. This works the same as the Windows version; blocking applications that are in the blocked application list from installing or executing.
Applications for Mac OS X are already added to our Application Control list, inline with the Windows listings. We do not differentiate products between operating systems (e.g: adding Safari will block it on both Windows and Mac OS).
