Sophos has released a fix for a potential issue with Sophos SafeGuard 8.00.0.251 that affects a small number of customers and that could make recovery impossible in very rare cases.
The issue only affects customers with SafeGuard 8.00.0.251 that have multiple domains imported in the SafeGuard Management Center and a label of any domain reappears (in parts) at the beginning of any other domain e.g. test.example.com and tested.domain.eu.
An updated version of the SafeGuard backend installers that address this topic, was released on Tuesday the 1st of November 2016. The updated installers are part of the sgn_801.zip which can be downloaded from Sophos.com.
We recommend that all customers that are already running SafeGuard version 8, upgrade their SafeGuard backend as soon as possible.

Download the latest SafeGuard 8 package from Sophos.com and use the updated SafeGuard 8 backend installation packages (version 8.00.0.280) as described in the Installation Guide.
Download the latest SafeGuard 8 package from Sophos.com and use the updated SafeGuard 8 backend installation packages (version 8.00.0.280) as described in the Upgrade Guide.
Download the latest SafeGuard 8 package from Sophos.com and use the updated SafeGuard 8 backend installation packages (version 8.00.0.280) to upgrade the currently installed SafeGuard 8.00.0.251 packages.
The new backend msi packages, SGNManagementCenter.msi, SGNServer.msi, and SGNWebHelpDesk.msi, can simply be installed on the system(s) that run the initial version of SafeGuard 8.0 and will upgrade them to the latest build. Note: SafeGuard Management Center installations, running on Client operating systems, need to be upgraded as well. There are no additional changes to the SafeGuard Database required.
