This article provides instructions for how to enable user domain name override for Sophos Central Endpoint on OS X
Applies to the following Sophos product(s) and version(s)
Not product specific
Operating systems OS X / macOS
When a user logs in on an OS X system, the username sent to Sophos Central is in the form of <Computername>\<Username>. This can cause issues with users not matching Active Directory Synchronization in Central.
As of version 9.5.1 of Sophos Central Endpoint for OS X, this can be overridden to submit <domainname>\<username>.
Sophos runs a query against the system to get the domain name from SAMBA. This can be replicated to test that this returns the correct domain name.
The output from this command will include a domain name if one exists.
