The primary objective of Traffic Shaping policies is to manage and distribute total bandwidth according to parameters such as user, firewall, web category, or application. Traffic Shaping policy allocates and limits the maximum bandwidth usage of the user and controls web and network traffic.
Bandwidth is the amount of data passing through media over a period of time and is measured in terms of kilobytes per second (KBps) or kilobits per second (kbits) (1 Byte = 8 bits).
