Default/expected display. Your computer is protected.
If you have disabled on-access scanning this is expected. To enable on-access scanning select 'Open Preferences' from the Sophos shield on the menu bar, select the 'On Access' tab and click the 'Start Scanning' button. You will have to authenticate your user account with the padlock in the bottom left hand corner to make changes.
If you have just installed Sophos Anti-Virus, the Sophos shield on the menu bar is gray and under preferences on-access scanning shows as enabled: reboot your computer to resolve any problem.
One or more malicious files has been detected. From the Sophos shield on the menu bar select 'Open Quarantine Manager'.
To see more information on the items detected first authenticate your user account by clicking the padlock icon in the bottom left corner. Then select an item and expand the lower section to view further details.
Note: If you do not see the Sophos shield on the menu bar ensure it is enabled in 'Preferences' as shown in the screenshot below, or reboot your computer. To open 'Preferences' (without the shield): Open a Finder window, go to your 'Applications' folder, and select the 'Sophos Anti-Virus' application. With the 'Scans' window active, from the menu bar select 'Sophos Anti-Virus' | 'Preferences'.
