Intercept X Advanced for Server with EDR includes all of the above and:
The Intercept X features are built into the Sophos Central Server Protection agent and we do not support the product running alongside third-party AV products on Windows Servers.
All features other than Server Lockdown are installed and available to use by default. However, the functionality is not enabled until the feature is enabled in the applied Server Policy.
Not all features are available for all server operating systems. For a full list of supported features on your operating systems, refer to:
Supported Windows platforms for Sophos Endpoint Security and Control, Sophos Enterprise Console, Sophos Cloud Endpoint Protection and Sophos Central Device Encryption
Sophos typically installs all core components of the Central Server Protection agent onto a Server. This includes components that are required for features that are not currently enabled in your Sophos Central policy. This is to expedite the availability and enablement of features in policy and license upgrade.
Occasionally an update to the Central Server Protection agent will require a reboot to upgrade a component to the latest version. This reboot will never be forced by Sophos, there is no impact to protection during the period before the reboot is completed. This also does not impact the ability for new threat detection updates to be applied to the Server. New installations will also request a reboot but likewise there is no impact to protection during the period before the reboot is completed
It is recommended scheduling a reboot during your next maintenance Window to ensure that you are running the latest version of all components.
When opening the Sophos Endpoint UI, click on About, Server Core Agent will be listed under the Products section.
New evaluations of Sophos Central will automatically retrieve an evaluation Intercept X Advanced for Server license in order to trial Server Protection. This can be seen under Licensing and will be in addition to the Endpoint Protection license.
No. The installer automatically detects the operating system of the computer and as a result will install the Server Protection version.
Note: Existing managed servers running the standard endpoint software will not automatically be upgraded to the Server Protection software. This action is required to be initiated by the administrator.
