Support stop is when Sophos Support on this product version will end
The mobile area is very agile and the release cycles are driven by the respective mobile platforms. Therefore the lifecycle of the mobile products is shorter than usual for Sophos products. To provide an idea of the lifecycle planning, please look at the general rules described below.
Only the latest version of SMC and SMC SaaS will be updated to become compatible to updates of the mobile OS (e.g. iOS 7 to iOS 8). It is recommended to upgrade early to new versions to plan for it.
In general, only versions on the latest patch level will receive maintenance. We will not provide hotfixes or patches for previous versions.
Maintenance is defined by the later date of these two rules:
12 months after release rounded to the end of the quarter
6 months after a new version (no patch or service pack) has been released.
Support is defined by the later date of the two rules:
18 months after release rounded to the end of the quarter
6 months after a new version has been released
Note: All mobile app releases are also listed here: https://twitter.com/smcsophos
Support is defined by the later date of these two rules:
Note: This also applies for apps downloaded directly from MySophos
In the time frames defined above as Support time, the compatibility will be maintained.
All dates are to be read as the month's end.
* For all customers on SMC 3.0 and below Support end is March 31st 2014.
As Sophos Mobile as Service is managed by Sophos, we do not provide an lifecycle data. The Sophos Mobile as Service instances get updated within 4 weeks after any Sophos Mobile release latest. The updates and maintenance details are published here.
