The SafeGuard Device Encryption Client as of version 6.10 cannot be installed on Windows XP and Windows Vista. However a SafeGuard 6.10 or 7.0 backend can still manage clients running 6.0x.
Even though the SGN/SGE 6.10/7.0 Client cannot be installed on Windows XP or Windows Vista Operating Systems, these clients can still be secured by installing SafeGuard Device Encryption 6.0. Depending on if you already have an existing environment or start from scratch proceed as described below.
In the SafeGuard Management Center Wizard, during the creation of the Company Certificate you have to choose SHA1 as algorithm instead of SHA256 (default), otherwise it won't be possible to manage clients which are not running at least version 6.10.
