When running the Sophos Central for Mac installer you see the following message:
Your system has an incompatible Sophos Endpoint product installed. Uninstall the existing product before installing Sophos Cloud Endpoint.

You have run the Sophos for Mac installer, managed by Sophos Central, on a computer already running Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac.
The Mac installer does support upgrades from one version number to the next etc. However it does not support 'cross grade' installations (e.g., moving from an Enterprise Console, or Home Edition installation to Sophos Central).
