You see Patch Service errors in the Windows event log, following patch services starting up. However, the Patch/Patch Assessment is running correctly.
An example of the error type is:
PID 2024 : TID 4Error fetching upgrade status.-- System Exception Details --Message: Cannot open database "SOPHOSPATCH52" requested by the login. The login failed.

Believed to be a timing issue where one of the Patch services starts before the SQL service is fully up-and-running.
Ensure that Patch Assessment is running correctly. If you are satisfied that it is, then no further action is required.
