By default, a Sophos Anti-Virus 9.x installation will send email alerts only when an error is encountered.

Managed Sophos Anti-Virus
An Enterprise Console managed client will send e-mail alerts for successful updates, based on the default Enterprise Console configuration. To disable this centrally using Sophos Enterprise Console, follow these steps:
Note: The 'Log Sophos AutoUpdate activity' option does not disable Logging on Linux/Unix systems - It simply disables NotifyOnUpdate. However, this option will turn off logging for other platforms (e.g. Windows). We recommend you create a separate updating policy for Linux/Unix endpoints if you are disabling this option.
