This article describes what to do if you are running Sophos SafeGuard Disk Encryption for Mac and you plan to upgrade your Mac operating system to OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion).
Sophos SafeGuard Disk Encryption for Mac, v 6.01, which will be released shortly, will be compatible with OS X 10.8, but you must follow the steps below.
Known to apply to the following Sophos product(s) and version(s) Sophos SafeGuard Disk Encryption for Mac 6.01.0
If you are going to update to OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) you must uninstall Sophos SafeGuard Disk Encryption for Mac first. Uninstalling SafeGuard will automatically decrypt encrypted partitions.
After the successful update of the operating system, you will need to install Sophos SafeGuard Disk Encryption 6.01, and encrypt the partitions again.
