This article provides information on the differences between a licensed Standalone Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac (SAV for Mac) and SAV for Mac Home Edition.

When you install a licensed Standalone SAV for MAC you will need to configure the Updating credentials manually. When you install SAV for MAC Home Edition the updating credentials are automatically configured.
Essentially there is no functional difference between the standalone licensed version or a standalone home edition. However, Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac Home Edition is designed exclusively for home use and is not to be installed on a computer used for professional work. Use of the software on computers owned or managed by an organization is prohibited. This includes educational institutions and not for profit organizations requiring or recommending anti-malware protection for computers accessing their networks.
SAV for Mac Home Edition does not include phone or email support. If you require support for the home edition of SAV for MAC you must post to our community forum (Sophos FreeTalk).

There are slight grey areas with regards to what constitutes an 'organization' however the rule of thumb is generally to ask yourself: Am I intending on installing the home edition on a computer that I claim in any way for taxation or insurance purposes of a business or organization? If not, it's home use and you can install the home edition software.
