Astaro Security Gateway - RED (Remote Ethernet Device)
The RED 10 appliance rev. 1 has five Ethernet ports, and eight status LEDs. There are no buttons, LCD display, or user interface to interact with. The eight LEDs may be used to determine the status and connectivity of the device. Status and error messages are relayed entirely through the pattern of LEDs lit solid, blinking, or unlit. This article explains the meaning of the various outputs of this limited interface.
Note - The status LEDs for RED 10 rev. 1 appliances are different from those on RED 10 rev. 2 or rev.3 This article explains the meaning of the rev. 1 LED outputs. For information about the LEDs for RED 10 rev. 2 please see LED blinking codes on RED (Remote Ethernet Device) 10, rev.2 and rev.3.
The Power light should remain on solid at all times, when the device is connected. The System light should remain on and solid after the device is booted, and there are no errors. If any errors occur, the system light blinks steadily. The error states chart below can be used to determine what state the device is in. When no error occurs, the lights either lits solid or is unlit, indicating the labelled status of the LED. The description of each light's label can be found on this chart below:
