Issue By default, Enterprise Console does not allow you to use authenticated SMTP in email reporting. This article describes how you can enable this on your system.
This functionality will be made available in a future release, without the necessity of using the workaround described below.
Known to apply to the following Sophos product(s) and version(s) Enterprise Console 5.0.0
NOTE: This does not apply to scheduled reports.
On the server on which Enterprise Console is installed, you need to create new registry keys, and then create and use suitable passwords.
Before you start, refer to the knowledgebase article warning on editing the registry.
(32bit) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sophos\EE\Sophos Enterprise Console\EmailAuthentication (64bit) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432node\Sophos\EE\Sophos Enterprise Console\EmailAuthentication
NOTE: If you have more than 1 SMTP server, or if each sub-estate has its own SMTP server with its own unique account, ensure that you create and use a common account
