Verbose data control logs are useful when troubleshooting unexpected behavior as these logs will provide us more information on which rule has caused a file to be blocked or permitted. This article describes the steps to enable verbose data control logging on an endpoint machine.

Verbose data control logging can only be enabled at the endpoint and is not a policy option that can be enabled from the console. To turn on verbose logging:
Note: The verbose information will now be logged to the default Data Control logs under: C:\Program Data\Sophos\Sophos Data Control\Logs
