Issue Under certain circumstances you are unable to save files. This occurs as follows:
You open a file which, although it has an encryption rule applied to it, is actually unencrypted (for example due to the fact that no initial encryption has been performed). When you later attempt to save the file, it requires encryption because it has the encryption rule applied to it (change of the encryption status). However, SafeGuard Lan Crypt is unable to encrypt and save the file.
The reason that it cannot do this is because some programs (e.g. Microsoft Office 2007) use a special approach when saving files, e.g. creating a temporary file - renaming the file - changing the encryption status. This process is incompatible with what Lan Crypt needs to do to save files.

If you are using Microsoft Office 2010 and above, we strongly recommend that you specify the executable of each program included in this software. Add the programs to the LAN Crypt Configuration as 'Special Rename Applications'. Using the information specified here, SafeGuard LAN Crypt will now be able to encrypt files of this type correctly.
Alternatively, you can add the Special Rename Applications to the Client directly, via a Registry entry:
