Installing on Windows 10 preview fails

This is a problem + a workaround.

When installing on Windows 10 Build 10044 I encountered an error. looking at the logs, it stopped during the creation of the local user for the AutoUpdate service.

I found the following article describing how to manually create an auto-update account, and that allowed me to install Sophos.

I expect (hope) it to be fixed by release, but if others encounter this, it may help

  • Thanks for the relpy Sandy.

I had read that already, and while I expected that Sophos would not support a preview build of a new OS, I also thought that others might be helped by my work-around. I'm going under the assumption that other Sophos Cloud users would be interested in trying Windows 10 and might want to have Sophos protecting them.

I probably should have explicitly mentioned the post explaining the lack of support from Sophos though, so thank you for including it.
