Sophos Cloud endpoint update frequency

Hi, I am seeing that devices in Sophos Cloud are being "Update Succeeded" every 2nd day. Where can I check the check for updates schedule in Sophos Cloud?

Thanks

  • It can't be changed from the default of 60 minutes.

You can confirm on the endpoint by opening SAV and click configure updating. The dialog of AutoUpdate has a schedule tab.

So every 60 minutes AutoUpdate will check if there is an update. More often than not there will be nothing to fetch. Typically if a computer is on for 24 hours, it might actually pull an update around 6-8 times in that time-frame based on the releases of .ide files. The computer is still performing live lookups to the Cloud for new data during this time as well.

I recall that messages are only sent when the state changes. So for each check you wouldn't see anything logged in the console but you can still see them in the local log.
