Thanks for reaching out to the Sophos Community Forum.
Do you know if Sophos is deployed to the Chromebook for security purposes as well, or is the device only behind an XG appliance on the network?
If you want to test this, I suggest trying a mobile hot-spot connection to see if the download succeeds without the Sophos XG scanning incoming traffic.
