Updates Fail In Endpoint Defense

My product was new when Windows 7 was current; and I have to keep it running.  Since November 14 updating has failed.  The message in the log says "your OS is not support by the product."  The product came with the virus removal service of some office store chain, a service I did not renew.  Is it still worthwhile for me to run this; or will this problem of failing to update remain permanent?
