Why is the virus scan "abnormally stopping?"

I have tried to use it twice and it appears to get about 90% finished scanning before it stops and displays a message about it stopping abnormally. What might cause this and how do I fix it? Thank you in advance for any suggestions. :)

Hello,

Can you tell me what product and OS you're running? I suspect this blog post may address your question: https://community.sophos.com/products/b/sophos-community-blog/posts/sophos-home-for-mac-sophos-anti-virus-for-mac-home-edition-issues-and-resolutions.

If the dashboard says the scan was completed, it has completed, despite this message showing, if you are running Sophos Home 1.2.0 for Mac.

OSX 10.9.5 is what I am running. I will check out the blog. Thank you. :)
