Web Protection and IPv6

Dear All,

Has anybody managed to get a clear picture of whether Web Protection behaves reliably over IPv6? Neither the Sophos test domain nor EICAR appear to publish AAAA records, which makes it nearly impossible to test the protection against the usual tools.

While it is quite possible to browse the web through Web Protection with IPv6 enabled, I am not sure to what extent it is actually active. Has anybody managed to gather any insights? Furthermore, should a Sophos employee stumble upon this post, are there any plans to enable IPv6 access to the test domain?

    This is bad news, though… I work in France, which is far from a progressive country when it comes to Internet access, and our ISP is now rolling out IPv6 to all users. Apple echoed that trend at the latest WWDC when they underlined that apps would soon have to support IPv6 fully to be accepted into the various app stores.

    Knowing, of course, that the destinies of Sophos software are not in your hands alone, could I entrust you with lighting and fanning a gentle fire under the seats of the engineers in charge of that particular aspect of the service?
