Sophos AutoUpdate is giving me the error message: Could not contact primary server

I updated my OO to Maverick OS 10.9.2 and my Sophos Anti-Virus to vs 9.0.8 earlier this week. Today my Sophos AutoUpdate is giving me the error message: Could not contact primary server. What should I do to resolve this? Kristine

    I know you posted these a year ago, but I'm having the same error message and Sophos won't connect in order to update. It's been like this for several days and I'm about to uninstall and get another antivirus, so if you can help that would be great.
