Removing malware on Time Machine

Sophos detected Mal/EncPk-WX in a file USChamber.zip , which I deleted manually. However, copies of the zip file are also on Time Machine and I can't figure out how to delete them. Manual tries get the 'operation not permitted' answer, even if I switch to superuser status.

Any clues out there?

  • Yes; using the search option on this page to find "Time Machine" should do it.

The easiest way to remove from Time Machine is from within Time Machine.  Just right-click the file and remove all instances of it.

  • Interesting answer, but how does one find the file on Time Machine?  Searching for it does not return a find, nor does searching for the malware on the computer.  The address given for the file in Sophos Home is incomplete, listed only as "/".
