  • Thank you, Sandy.

    It worked this time.

I had seen your post earlier, and used the link you gave there (and before I came to the forum, I had found my way to that same page), but all previous efforts to get from there to a download produced the message I mentioned in my post: Firefox could not find the file.

This time it found the file.

Not sure why, unless something on the Sophos site was fixed.

I hope the virus remover works on the Blackhole virus.  It was on the Sophos site that I saw it mentioned.  I was browsing the net for info on a virus that comes in an email that says that a funds transfer you made recently had been disallowed (or similar wording).  I received such an email recently.

I clicked on the attachment  -- it was in zipfie format -- but I don't think it opened -- I got a screen asking me which program to use to open it; nonetheless, something may have got out.  We run Kaspersky Anti-virus, which did not react.  Unfortunately, I deleted the email.

And since about that time, a few days ago, maybe it's just coincidental, but our internet connection has been behaving very strangely.  It's normally rock solid.  The router shows that the DSL connection is steady, and there are packets coming and going, but no computer on the network can reach any site on the internet.

Then it comes up again without even rebooting the router; It's enough to power-cycle the switch!

Weird.  Never seen anything like it.

Perhaps memory overflow in the router?  But it's a fairly serious Draytek; never had any similar problem with it.

Maybe all this information should go somewhere else?

Anyway, thanks for making the tool available.
